Navajo Lifestyle at the Denver Botanic Gardens

“Homeward Bound” is one of the 24 Allan Houser sculptures now on display at the Denver Botanic Gardens. This bronze sculpture, one of the largest pieces Houser completed, depicts the Navajo lifestyle revolving around tending flocks of sheep. The shepherdess is carrying a lamb in her arms.  I love how this sculpture was placed in the Dryland Mesa section of the gardens with the grass and plants growing up around it.
