Everything You Want to Know about Roses

If you love roses, you’ll love the Denver Rose Society’s annual symposium and old garden rose show this Saturday.

rose-society-show-blogI’m going to need a bigger yard.

That’s how I felt when I read about the Denver Rose Society’s Old Garden Rose Display & Annual Symposium on June 6.

Not only is it the chance to learn how to grow and care for roses, many varieties of old and modern roses will be for sale. The free event takes place at the Malley Center, 3380 S. Lincoln Street, in Englewood, Colo.

In addition to the symposium, display and sale, consulting Rosarians will be on hand to answer questions and identify mystery roses. The display is from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The “Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Roses” symposium is scheduled from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and includes talks on Growing Roses 101, the Benefits of using Mile-Hi Rose Feed, Choosing and Growing Spectacular Roses, and Low Stress Pest and Disease Prevention and Control.

Roses from High Country Roses will be available for sale, including hardy shrub and climbing roses in many colors and sizes.

This is a fabulous free event for every kind of Colorado rose lover, from beginner to expert. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to add some beautiful roses to your garden–if you have the room.
