The view from the floor of the tradeshow at the Garden Writers Symposium in Dallas is bloomin’ crazy.
The character, “Flame”, was lighting up the display while promoting the new Burgundy Red Hydrangea ‘Flame’.
Be sure to look for these new pruners from Corona tools next year. Corona has a great promotion going at the tradeshow by giving away t-shirts at registration and then giving away a bag of handtools to any garden writer wearing the t-shirt. The tools are in a nifty gardening tool bag that includes a sample of Authentic Haven Brand moo poo tea from our good friend, Annie Haven.
Shayna Lashaway, from Botanical Interests, filled me in on what to look forward to from the Broomfield, Colo., seed company…including a cool new catalog and 46 new seed varieties. Please look for the Cosmos ‘Celebration in Pink’ seeds because the company will donate $1.00 from every seed packet sold to help support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure fight against breast cancer.
I liked this new kit called Simple Garden from a company in Utah. I appreciated the idea because it’s sure to help get more people planting seeds and growing small gardens. I also like that the product is made in the USA.
The Proven Winners display features ‘Lemon Lime’ Hydrangeas–and a chance to win an iPad. Here’s hoping I get the little ‘Daisy May’ perennial home with me in one piece.
Remember, tomorrow afternoon is the world’s biggest virtual garden party from the Dallas Arboretum–hope to see you there!
